The CACDC sent a $300.00 donation to the Pasadena Humane Society to help with the cost of medical care for pets injured in the catastrophic fires in California. At the time of our donation the Pasadena Humane Society had processed over 750 injured pets, a staggering amount of trauma.

October 2024
The CACDC board voted to make three donations that went directly to the worst areas affected by hurricane Helene. We sent $100 dollars to these three organizations who were doing the hard work on the ground in North Carolina and Tennessee.
This local Humane Society in Newport TN. Was in dire need as they were seeing an influx of animals that are lost and/ or in need of medical care.

The second is $100. Went to this GoFundMe account run by Brittnay Phelps (a local handler) she had been on the ground from the start.

The third group, CACDC, sent $100. to was The Mountain Mule Packers who have partnered with the Cajun Navy to buy and pack supplies into the hills around Asheville NC. These hills were devoid of power, roads, running water, the mules were the lifeline to get supplies to those in need.

September 2024
CACDC donated $300.00 to the Australian Cattle Dog Club of America (Non-profit) .

The free Junior education weekend was a roaring success! We had a lovely group of dogs, Jr. handlers, and families who spent the morning working with our own fabulous Kathy Hamilton teaching them the Ins and outs of Junior showmanship and ring edict. I have never heard so many people rave about what they learned in a class.
In the afternoon we ran a free Fun Match, judged by our own amazing Jackie Esperance, it was amazing to see how much the handlers and dogs had grown in skill from the morning. Jackie had to work hard to pick the winners: Best Junior Handler, Caleb Dodge & his dog Izzy, Reserve Junior Handler Rylan Butters, and his dog 6Pk’s Moxie, everyone went home with ribbons, and AKC Jr Handler rule books.
In the other building we ran FDC (Farm Dog Certification) this was also offered free to all Juniors taking part in the workshop, and we had a number of other dogs come and get their dogs tested. Thank you, Tayler Brentano, and Kim Robinson for helping with the judging. There are so many exciting new title holders. One of the youngest was 6-year-old Caden, son of Megan Groat whose family has just applied for membership. Caden guided the puppy Wombat perfectly through the test and earned himself a wonderful New Title ribbon. Thank you, Scott Hamilton and Miss Kitty (Miss Perfect really), for being the best passive strangers, you’re the man!
Thank you, John Bowles, for being the best grill master and preparing lunch for everyone and keep their tummies full. Thank you, Harriet Deary, for being everywhere and helping everyone have a great time, you are so appreciated.
Finally, a huge thank you to the CACDC for sponsoring this event, and Tayler Brentano for being the very best co-chair! You put so much work and passion into this event, and it really showed. Thank you for securing the Western Oregon Exposition to host our event, it was just perfect.
